| 'A disc recommendable for those following the British a cappella choral tradition and with a readiness still to be surprised by joy' Rob Barnet, Music on the Webb
|
| Written for the early music ensemble, The Burgundian Cadence, this passion setting has a text adapted from the Gospel of St. John by the composer with six poems from 'The Tranquil Lake of Love' by Carl Cook.
Using just 4 unaccompanied, it encompasses the entire passion story in a dramatic and moving manner.
The work was premiered by The Burgundian Cadence in 1999 and performed by them on a tour which included performances in Lincoln Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Southwark Cathedral. They went on to make a recording of the work, for more details of the CD, Click Here. |
