My eyes are ever turned towards the Lord

My eyes are ever turned towards the Lord;
For he shall sustain me.
For he shall pluck my feet out of the snare:
Look thou upon me, have mercy on me, for I am alone and poor.

To thee have I lifted up my soul.
In the only God I put my trust.
Let me not be ashamed.

My eyes are ever turned towards the Lord;
For he shall sustain me.
For he shall pluck my feet out of the snare:
Look thou upon me, have mercy on me.

The troubles of my heart are enlarged:
O bring thou me out of my distresses.
Look upon mine affliction and my pain:
Look thou upon me, and forgive all my sins.

Consider mine enemies;
For they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
O Keep my soul, and deliver me.

To thee have I lifted up my soul.
In the only God I put my trust.

My eyes are ever turned towards the Lord;
For he shall sustain me.
For he shall pluck my feet out of the snare:
Look thou upon me, have mercy on me, for I am alone and poor.

Psalm 24, adapted by the composer.
