| The Kings | |
| We were seven, seven. | There came wise men from the east |
| Sages they called us, | Saying where is he that is born the King of the Jews. |
| Watchers of the stars and see-ers into the misty heavens. | We have seen his star in the east, |
| We were seven | are come to worship him |
| Revealers of a dimly known future, | When Herod had heard these things, |
| Knowers of eternity. | He was troubled and all Jerusalem with him. |
| We were seven. | And he sent them to Bethlehem, |
| The going was tough, | said go search diligently for the child. |
| Some fell by the wayside, | Lo, the star which they saw in the east, |
| questioning everything we believed. | Went before them till it came and stood over the house where the young child was. |
| Was it worth it, this terrible journey. | When they saw the star they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. |
| We were three. | They saw the child, with Mary his mother, |
| Survivors and believers. | Fell down and worshipped, worshipped him, |
| Was it worth it. | Presented unto him their gifts, |
| Yes. | Gold, frankincense and myrrh. |
